This conference, scheduled to take place at KarRC of RAS in October 2013, has been listed as a key event in the National Environment Year programme of activities (RF President decreed to make year 2013 the Environment Year in Russia).
The conference organizers are the RF Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of the Environment, Finland, Directorate for Nature Management, Norway, RK Ministry of Nature Use and Environment, KarRC of RAS, Finnish Environment Institute, and University of Eastern Finland.
A wide range of issues related to the strengthening of the international status of the Green Belt of Fennoscandia (GBF), development of the PA network in the territory, study and conservation of the GBF natural and cultural heritage, as well as sustainable economic use of the natural resources and prospects for economic development of the territories within GBF will be considered at the conference.
