The paper summarizes materials of long-term studies of aphyllophoroid (mainly wood-destroying) fungi in forest ecosystems in Republic of Karelia. Their coverage by studies and correlations with specific substrata in different biogeographic provinces of the republic, as well as their conservation status are reported.
