Recent entomological researches in Russian Karelia were generally concentrated in several protected areas. Kivach Nature Reserve, where studies on entomofauna are being conducted for more than 15 years, is nowadays the best studied point. The present work provides the data on 312 species belonging to 40 families of brachycerous Diptera (Brachycera Orthorrhapha and Brachycera Cyclorrhapha), based on the long term collecting in the reserve.
