Kizhsky zoological preservation includes a group of islands and the eastern coast of Zaonezhsky peninsula. The results of flora and vegetation study of this preservation are given in this article. The Kizhi island has an area of 267 ha. 353 vascular plants (301 native and 52 alien) were found on this island, 54 of them have been found recently. Geobotanical description of black alder community has been given for the first time in Karelia. The Volkostrov island has an area of 185 ha. The flora of the island includes 315 species (282 and 33). Some species are rare for Zaonezhye and Karelia: Carex muricata, Thalictrum simplex, Ulmus laevis, Thlaspi caerulescens, Myosoton aquaticum, Chaerophyllum aromaticum, Eupatorium cannabinum are among them. A group of rare species has been found on some other islands of the archipelago and on the coast of the Zaonezhsky peninsula. It is noteworthy that Cotoneaster antoninae and Helianthemum nummularium are new for Zaonezhsky floristical district (Ramenskaya. 1983). Organization of strict protection of some little islands with unique vegetation is recommended.
