Entomological studies in Russian Karelia have lately been significantly expanded. New data on insect fauna were obtained allowing more precise estimation of the distribution and potential vulnerability of rare species. In the light of new data we observe changes in the insect list published in the newest edition of the Red Data Book of Republic Karelia [2007]. The revised list includes 272 species. Fifty species were added and 32 species deleted from the former list. A hundred species are subjects to category change.
